Hospice chooses Cybertill to manage shops
June 11, 2010

Knowsley, Merseyside. June 2010: The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice has chosen Cybertill’s Charity EPoS solution to help manage its thirteen charity stores.

Founded in the early 1980’s as the New Glasgow Hospice Trust, it acquired its royal name on becoming a wedding gift to the Prince and Princess of Wales. Since its early beginnings, it has grown and become an integral part of Glasgow and its wider community.

Central to the Hospice’s ongoing fundraising are thirteen retail stores based in Greater Glasgow. They currently generate £250,000 a year, and their retail development manager, Bobby Grant, was keen to optimise their revenue potential.

“We wanted to start claiming Gift Aid on donated goods as this both increases the funds we are able to raise from our shops and allows us to maximise the generosity of our supporters. We also wanted to be able to manage stores more effectively and the stock they hold. With these aims in mind, the obvious solution was an EPoS system that could help us meet our objectives. Cybertill stood out for many reasons although the most striking was that it is a ‘cloud computing’ solution. Not only does this help minimise a charity’s investment, but it also gives us access to live data across the stores. Perhaps, most importantly, the solution is easy to use, something that is critical for volunteers who work in the charity sector, who may not have worked in an IT environment before.”

Ian Tomlinson, executive chairman at Cybertill, stated: “Cybertill has a proven charity EPoS solution that includes automating the process of reclaiming Gift Aid. Cybertill looks forward to working with The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice to help optimise its retail operations and raise more funds to help the hospice continue its good work.”

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice has continually strived to provide high-quality palliative care to those suffering from terminal illnesses and support for their families. Through its ongoing and extensive fund raising, it has developed first-class facilities dealing with over 1,000 referrals each year.
