Sharp has launched its new range of A4 monochrome desktop printers, that are designed for everyday use in the workplace. The affordable and easy to use machines feature a compact design, which will appeal to offices needing to save space.

Whilst appealing to budget-conscious businesses, there has been no compromise on performance or usability. Both models, the 43-pages per minute (ppm) DX-B450P and the 34-ppm DX-B350P, benefit from technology traditionally found in more expensive machines. These range from true 1200dpi print resolution, which provides the clearest text and images possible, to web-based administration and management tools, email alerts and dependable security features.

The new printers extend Sharps portfolio of office equipment, meaning customers will be satisfied whether they are looking for standard black and white machines or state-of-the-art production systems.

Both machines fully comply with the European Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive and have received multiple environmental accreditations including Energy Star, Blue Angel and Nordic Swan.

Easy to use and manage

Ideal for workgroups with limited technical support resources, the DX-B450P and DX-B350P, which can be installed and set up in minutes, are designed for maximum ease of use and enhanced workgroup productivity.

Standard tools include the Web Browser feature, which makes it easy to configure and manage the printer (and any other Sharp printers on the network) direct from the desktop, and the Printer Status Monitor which lets users check the operating status of the machine before sending a job.

System administrators will also appreciate the Email Alerts feature, which maintains office productivity by automatically sending an email when there are error conditions or when a particular action is required.

Ease of use is further enhanced by a range of options including a Duplex Module for automatic two-sided printing and an Offset Catch Tray for keeping individual print jobs separate from each other.

Ideal for everyday use

A fast first page out time of less than 8 seconds, a paper supply that expands to 1,800 sheets and continuous print speeds of up to 43 ppm (DX-B450P) and 34 ppm (DX-B350P) make the new machines more than capable of handling the high daily workloads of todays medium-sized workgroups.

Advanced security

Recognising the need to protect confidential information, Sharp has equipped the two printers with robust security features. Port Control and IP/Mac Address Filtering with password-protected configuration provide a reliable defence against unauthorised network access.  A secure erase function is also available to ensure any data saved to storage devices, such as the (optional) 40GB hard drive, are safely erased. 

The security benefits dont stop there - from a users security perspective, the originator of a job can also assign a PIN number to any job to ensure sensitive documents are not left out in the open.
