Savoye, the automated warehouse solution provider, has launched E-Jivaro - a new packaging product aimed at the e-commerce market. Based on Savoyes Jivaro packaging machine, E-Jivaro offers companies greater flexibility with its letterbox format designed for distributing smaller single products such as books and DVDs.

The e-commerce marketplace has very specific packaging constraints due to the diverse products, parcel sizes, delivery deadlines and required security. Designed to automatically adapt itself to the dimensions of the ordered product, E-Jivaro is able to consistently provide secure packaging with no wasted space or costly filling materials for parcels that are greater than 30 mm in height. E-Jivaro is capable of delivering a throughput of between 13 to 16 cycles per minute, with the possibility of putting the dispatch address on automatically during lidding.

E- Jivaro offers companies a lighter, more flexible cardboard structure as an alternative to the inconsistent boxes and the bubble-pack envelopes that are usually used within this sector. Shoppers also benefit from the smaller, more secure letterbox format packaging that can be easily opened on receipt via a tear-off strip. It also facilitates delivery via the letterbox, reducing the instances of personal delivery, which is more expensive and time consuming.
