This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Prysm launches Digital Mannequin.

Prysm, the LPD (Laser Phosphor Display) screen manufacturer has created the Digital Mannequin, a digital signage solution which brings the glamour and inspiration of the catwalk to the shop floor without the hassle of refurbishment or the additional expense of supporting infrastructure.

The Digital Mannequin is a free standing display that features four TD1 Prysm tiles stacked in custom made casing reaching 7ft tall. Once on the shop floor the system runs from a simple plug and play solution for instant life-size full motion advertising, product showcasing or point of sale promotions.

At the core of the Digital Mannequin is Prysms Laser Phosphor Display (LPD) technology which has revolutionalised the professional display world with its eco credentials, which are above and beyond industry standards for energy use and environmental impact.

Each LPD panel draws just 30 watts of power, up to 75% less power than traditional backlit or projection technology-based products resulting in a lower running cost. The screens also generate almost no heat during operation, meaning less energy wastage and no cooling issues for installations in confined spaces.

LPD uses solid-state lasers to deliver brilliant image quality for even the fastest action video content. Each tile is 25 and completely seam-less just with a 0.2mm seam gap, ultra wide viewing angle of 178 and high brightness.

Steve Scorse, Vice president of Prysm for EMEA, commented: Within the retail environment digital signage is everywhere. With so many messages competing for attention and increasingly creative solutions, the customers expectations has risen making it a competitive space for advertisers to get noticed.

The Digital Mannequin has been designed to recapture the customers imagination and to stand out by reaching them right on the shop floor in a larger than life fashion. This allows for more direct communication and Prysms technology ensures higher resolution, better colour and a wider viewing angle.
