A subsidiary of Fast Retailing Company, the fashion retailer Uniqlo, has introduced the Casio IT-300 on a worldwide basis to be used by shop staff.

Uniqlo set up the SPA business model by implementing product planning, production, distribution and sales of its products. The company has been expanding a core part of the business of Fast Retail Group by supplying quality casual wear at reasonable prices.  Oversea expansion began in 2001 to the United Kingdom, China, Korea, USA, Hong Kong, France, Singapore, Taiwan, Russia, and Malaysia as a global company from Japan.

In order to improve the level of customer service, store management efficiency and in store communication, Uniqlo have chosen the Casio IT-300 for shop staff to carry and use for a wide range of daily tasks. The selection process considered the following reasons for choosing IT-300 against several other devices.
 
The following reasons were key to the decision

  • Portable and compact enough to fit into a pocket.
  • Good ergonomic appearance which harmonizes with the store space.
  • A large screen that supports multi finger action input and numeric  keypad with excellent input efficiency.
  • Rugged, IP54 rated and a drop durability of 1.5 metres.
  • Multi language option is possible.
  • CASIO global after-sales service.
  • An integrated high performance barcode scanner for stock management and stocktaking. 

The Casio IT-300 helps each employee to make an individual contribution towards the high aspiration of the company. It has become possible to provide  real-time product information (colour, size etc), stock data and order management data on the shop floor without using a back-office PC. The overall customer service and efficiency of in-store management has been considerably enhanced and the communication level has been strengthened.
