This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: TXT launches 'TXTMobile'.

TXT e-solutions, the international provider of integrated and collaborative planning solutions, has announced the launch of the TXTMobile platform: TXT's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), buying, merchandising, assortment planning, as well as in-store visibility capabilities, are all now available on Windows8 mobile devices.

Riccardo Proni, VP Product Strategy & Development at TXT, explains: "With TXTMobile, we provide an offer of 'mobile apps' that allow easy, mobile access to TXT software, boasting new levels of intuitiveness, as well a new way to share and manage data. The platform is uniquely positioned in the marketplace, as functionalities available on the move extend from key aspects of PLM, to strategic retail planning processes such as buying and assortment."

TXT, which already provides an end-to-end planning solution tailored to Fashion & Retail, with the announcement of TXTMobile extends the frontiers of innovation to new business processes and functionalities, among which:

  • StyleClipboard - supports the creative phase of collection development with the ability to capture images and ideas remotely and make them immediately available to all participants in the design phase;
  • CollectionBooks -  which are now accessible on the move and, even more importantly, can be updated on-demand, granting a perfect control of the collection development, anytime and everywhere;
  • SellingSessions -  while new collections are presented, allows the possibility to collect orders, access planning data and collections' targets, right from the buying conference;
  • BuyingSessions -  in offsite meetings with suppliers, gives the  ability to update the buying plan while on the go, add new values and images, as well as to constantly monitor targets;

In addition, these new solutions are currently being enriched to include In-store assortment capabilities - which will allow store managers to see on tablet computers the portion of the assortment plan which is most relevant to them, speeding up the entire process. It also means being able to receive on their mobile device all corporate guidelines regarding the store set up, such as style/shelf combinations.

Benefits from using TXTMobile include: the ability to extend the PLM and planning process to new non-traditional users; keeping productivity high while on the move; speeding up interactions; ensuring that consistent data is made available for decision-making, wherever that might be. Additionally, the visual analysis and touch navigation leads to a richer, ever more intuitive user experience.

Andrea Cencini, Executive Vice President at TXT comments: "The launch of TXTMobile is part of a comprehensive TXT strategy to support increased business mobility. It follows the recent release of TXTPlanning Lite client in January 2013, which gives users access to the capabilities of TXTPlanning in a disconnected mode. This is especially relevant in processes such as collaborative forecasting, where tens, if not hundreds of geographically distributed and mobile users typically input into the process, and demand solutions supporting the synchronization of information and activities."
