The EPoS manufacturer has brought to market a new solution that is claimed to protect retailers from the perennial problem of downtime. Aures POSpole is an advanced pole mount option which enables a terminal to be swapped in 20 seconds, less time than it takes to call an engineer.

Retailers know to their cost the potential impact of terminal downtime in terms of lost revenue, lost customers and damaged reputation. Now AURES Technologies, manufacturer of what is commonly regarded as the most reliable POS hardware on the market, has come up with an innovation to protect its clients from the effects of a possible terminal failure. It has designed a new, advanced pole mount option, POSpole, for its Yuno and J2 600 series hardware that enables terminals to be swapped in seconds.

Moray Boyd, Managing Director of Aures Technologies in the UK, explains the POSpole rationale: "We were finding IT Directors stipulating ever more flexible and advanced mount options to satisfy environmental and/or brand-specific needs. We have designed the AURES POSpole to offer a custom solution to the most difficult POS mounting situations and provide an unprecedented level of reassurance."

The new AURES POSpole has a robust all-steel construction. The lack of any plastic components makes its suitable for the toughest environment. A wider than average pole diameter enables cables to be more securely carried and accessed for quick installation. An additional sub-counter pressure plate ensures a sturdier fix.

Considerations of both aesthetics and hygiene have led to the creation of flush-fit peripheral arms. The removal of retaining collars for additional POS peripherals results in a completely smooth pole which looks neater and does not trap dirt and germs. Pre-fixed bolts on the base are concealed and there is no plastic base flange cover.

The POSpole offers a unique and versatile swivel and tilt mechanism, cleverly utilising the terminal's existing VESA mount to achieve 90⁰ forward and backward tilt and 270° rotation. This can be deployed as a swing arm for a printer or Chip & PIN tray, a secondary stand for a printer or Chip & PIN device, or to accommodate two screens (one of which is a customer-facing display).
