The global technology and business event, Smart IoT London, has announced that industry pioneers Bill Ruh (CEO of GE Digital and CDO of GE), Dr. Giles Nelson (SVP at Software AG) and Richard Soley (Executive Director of the Industrial Internet Consortium), will be speaking at the market-leading event on the 12th and 13th of April 2016.

These highly esteemed IoT experts join an impressive line-up that includes Robert Scoble, R “Ray” Wang, Mike Gualtieri and Dr. John Bates. Expected to draw a joint audience of over 20,000 professionals across Smart IoT London and its co-located shows, the event will be the largest gathering of Internet of Things (IoT) expertise in the world.

Opening the keynotes on the 12th of April will be renowned GE Chief Digital Officer and thought leader Bill Ruh, whose impressive 30 year career has seen him drive the vision of the first cloud-based platform for the industrial world, as well as launching GE’s Industrial Internet of Things strategy and leading the convergence of the physical and digital worlds within GE globally. Ruh also played an instrumental role in establishing the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), which brings together government, academia and industry leaders for setting the standards, best practices and processes for the Industrial Internet.

Ruh will be joined by fellow IIC leader Richard Soley, who in his role as Executive Director is responsible for the vision and direction of the organisation, as well as being the co-founder and chairman of the prestigious Object Management Group, the world's largest standards’ consortium. The IIC was organised to drive the growth, development and adoption of the Industrial Internet. With the Industrial Internet expected to have an economic impact of $33 trillion, the collaboration is designed to support businesses in  accelerating and implementing cutting-edge IoT strategies and acquiring the technical know-how to be able to deploy them across their entire technology ecosystem.

Discussing the collaboration with Smart IoT, Soley commented: "Smart IoT London is well positioned to support the IIC, as it is bringing together the entire IoT ecosystem in a strategic way, providing a vital platform for nurturing IoT evolution. It’s definitely going to be a major event for IoT and the Industrial Internet, and all those involved in this space."

In addition to Ruh and Soley, renowned entrepreneur and SVP at Software AG Dr. Giles Nelson will be bringing his considerable foresight and experience in big data and streaming analytics to the event, delivering a keynote speech on the 12th of April. Previously responsible for Progress’ Decision Analytics business line, Dr. Nelson also co-founded Apama, the pioneering event processing software vendor, where he co-invented the core, patented technology.

John Davy, Group Event Director at Smart IoT London said: “We are delighted to have such hugely respected experts confirmed for Smart IoT London’s keynotes. Bill, Richard and Giles are all pioneers in their field and they will bring unparalleled levels of expertise through their years of experience to the stage. We are also extremely pleased to announce a partnership with the IIC, which both Bill and Richard played an instrumental role establishing”.
