Brother launch shows commitment to independents

This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Brother launch shows commitment to independents.

Office technology specialist Brother is throwing its weight behind independent retailers looking to boost their business. The company has launched a long-term support package for the independent sector.  The scheme is designed to help retailers compete more effectively with major multiples and direct sellers.

To underline its intentions, Brother has announced the 10 commitments it will make to partners signing up to the scheme.  These include providing additional external sales, marketing and product support, increased margin opportunities, exclusive products and promotions and free, high quality point of sale. The scheme will encompass Brothers complete range of print, fax and label machines, with marketing, offers and exclusive products designed specifically to appeal to the typical target customers of independent retailers.

Phil Jones, sales and marketing director for Brother UK explains, We believe that independents deserve better from their technology partners.  Retailers signing up to our new scheme will be given wide-ranging support to attract new customers, improve margins and gain an advantage over competitors.

Many will see this as a much-needed response to current trading conditions, but for us it is more significant than that.  Were aiming to build long-lasting partnerships that will help build trade long after the term credit crunch becomes a distant memory.
