DataFlight Europe, a leading developer and supplier of mobile trading solutions for the international airline industry, is now launching its most advanced ever, all-in-one On Board Trade terminal. At the same time DataFlight Europe introduces a new sister terminal, the smallest produced to date in the professional POS league.

For nearly a quarter of a century, DataFlight Europes  On Board Trader and back office systems have been the benchmarks of airline on board trading. The new GT-10 terminal establishes a new benchmark in mobility.

If it gets more mobile, itll fly by itself, says DataFlight Europe CEO Jesper Schultz with a smile.

He is referring to the ability of GT-10 to communicate with the outside world. The new model has WiFi, Bluetooth, GSM/GPRS and IrDA which means that it communicates with all the newest technologies. This is a giant step compared with previous models where communication with On Board Trader was only possible with the physical movement of a RAM card between the back office systems and the POS terminal.

With the complete communication qualities of On Board Trader GT-10 you can truly talk about mobile POS solutions, says Jesper Schultz.

Other aspects of the new terminal also represent innovation. The protective lid above the receipt roll is now a so-called clamp shell type. This design makes it much easier to replace an empty paper roll: Raise the lid above the empty roll, insert a new roll of paper, close the lid, and your GT-10 is ready to print many hundreds of new receipts and messages.

The new model also features enhanced ergonomics with a shift of the centre of gravity so that the terminal now fits more smoothly into the hand. If, by accident, it leaves the hand and lands on the floor, the most vulnerable part the back has been equipped with shock absorbers in strong rubber plastics. A heavy-duty terminal has become even sturdier!

The electronics have also gone through a thorough makeover in DataFlight Europes new top model. It has a faster processor and a larger RAM memory that helps to further enhance On Board Traders incredible performance.

GT 1 a powerful midget

Simultaneously with the launch of the new top model, DataFlight Europe doubles its range of models in POS terminals with a new PDA-like terminal. With a height of 182mm, a width of 80mm and a weight of only 435g, GT1 is one of the smallest terminals for professional use in an airline environment.  Despite its size, GT1 is capable of solving basic tasks in connection with on board sale and reporting to the back office systems.

Some of the Danish IT companys existing and future airline customers may find that DataFlight Europes third and latest offer is the most tempting the opportunity to organise financing in a new way. Instead of customers paying upfront or at delivery for a new mobile payment system, DataFlight Europe launches a pay as you earn programme. Under this, customers can acquire the necessary number of terminals and the ideal back office system without any notable investment.

Pay as you earn

In the Pay as you earn programme, the customer pays for the terminals and back office systems in step with their contribution to revenue of the on board sale.

The programme will be designed individually with a view to meeting the needs of the individual customer, says Jesper Schultz.  For some airlines the best solution will be to pay for the system on the basis of the number of transactions. Others might benefit from letting the continual amortisation of the acquisition price be based on turnover or earnings. Or perhaps some customers would rather base the financing on some completely different parameters or combination of parameters.

Under our new Pay as you earn programme we are willing to meet basically any request the customer would have for a serious, tailored solution, Jesper Schultz adds.
