Tates rolls out Torex Productivity Management across 210 Spar stores

This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Tates rolls out Torex Productivity Management across 210 Spar stores.

Torex Retail Holdings Limited (Torex), a leading global provider of integrated technology solutions to the extended retail marketplace, has announced that Tates will implement Torex Productivity Management (formerly Torex PPM-HCM) across all of its 210 SPAR stores in the UK. The Torex solution will improve company efficiency, centralise budgeting and forecasting and manage all staff capacity and workload.

By providing core business data such as labour costs, budgeting and customer sales trends, the technology will help Tates identify underperforming stores and make sure staffing levels are correct, which will improve customer service. The centralised budgeting and forecasting system can be tailored to analyse each individual stores operating hours and requirements. It will also reduce expenses by enabling Tates to better manage absences, overtime, lateness and holidays. On top of this, the dashboard has a simple user interface for Tates managers to easily identify areas for improvement.

As well as enhancing management procedures, Torex Productivity Management will offer a more transparent view of working schedules, tracking staff overtime, ensuring there are enough staff working at peak times and offering a more efficient method for booking annual leave. Torex was chosen following a competitive tender, and undertook a study of six of Tates SPAR stores to identify the areas where it could improve the companys human capital management.

Geoff Hallam, Managing Director of Tates Limited, comments, We required a flexible, proven solution which is able to cope with the particular challenges of a nationwide convenience store chain, such as staff optimisation during extended opening hours and individual store requirements. The visibility Torex Performance Management provides will enable Tates to closely manage our operational expenses and fuel further growth. Helen Slaven, VP of Retail, Torex, adds, Torex Productivity Management has been developed to provide retailers with the best possible insight into their business operations. We are delighted to be working with Tates and are committed to helping the company build on its excellent reputation for providing superior customer service.
