Tagsys, provider of item-level RFID infrastructure, has deployed its complete RFID for Fashion solution by Rica Lewis, supplier of jean products to major European retail stores such as Carrefour, Auchan and Intermarch.
The Tagsys RFID solution allows Rica Lewis to gain full real-time visibility of its merchandise not only at the point of distribution but also directly on the floor of the major European retailers carrying Rica Lewis products, allowing for improved product availability and increased sales for the brand.
Rica Lewis sells over 5 million pairs of jeans each year and has invested in RFID technology to increase its sales and improve the customer experience through better product availability. Each sales manager from Rica Lewis is equipped with a portable RFID reader enabling them to perform rapid inventory of items directly on the sales floor of the retailer. Initial data collected has demonstrated that the inventory process has been optimised from a manual practice that took over an hour to a mere 10 minutes.
The time gained through the RFID deployment will be used to spend more time on merchandising and customer interaction. At the conclusion of the inventory process, the RFID data collected is sent in real time to the logistics centre, also equipped with an RFID infrastructure, allowing for a much more efficient order preparation and shipping process. Hence, the entire supply chain is optimised to better manage products, and provide greater availability at the point of sale.
The Tagsys RFID infrastructure for Rica Lewis includes printable UHF RFID tags fixed to existing apparel labels, RFID printers to program and print data, RFID tunnels to quickly and precisely control inbound and outbound merchandise, portable RFID readers to perform rapid inventories, and fixed RFID stations to prepare and verify orders. The entire RFID infrastructure is integrated into the existing IT system through e-connectware, Tagsys RFID administration tool to seamlessly manage and monitor RFID devices and data, allowing to provide the retailer actionable information in real time.
