Turkish technology retailer Teknosa is using Oracle Retail Macro Space Management and Oracle Retail In-Store Space Collaboration  to optimise its retail space and help improve revenue, by localising and tailoring assortment, price and promotions within its 256 stores. Teknosa offers consumers affordable state-of-the-art technology products from hundreds of global brands through its Standart, Planet, Extra, Exxtra and Teknosa Outlet store formats across Turkey, as it expands its international reach.

The Oracle Retail applications will help reconcile perceived floor space at head office with actual use of space within stores to provide insight into space elasticity and support an uplift of revenue with a decrease in operational costs. With increased management visibility to stores and shelf, Teknosa can maintain better compliance to corporate plans by reallocating floor space for high-margin items, improving assortments by tailoring inventory to local demographics, and creating more streamlined store-stocking practices. Additional benefits are planned by streamlining and improving communications between head office and stores. This will help Teknosa to gain a consistent channel of communication to promote floor plans or changes to store management, with sufficient lead time to enable promotional adjustments.

The deployment of Oracle Retail lifecycle space planning applications builds on Teknosas 10-year history of successfully relying on Oracles offerings including the Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Data Warehousing, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management and Business Intelligence applications, Oracle Retail merchandising and planning applications and Oracles Sun Server and Storage systems.

With our centralised Oracle platform in place, we are now moving towards individual areas of operational excellence and Teknosas investment in space planning tools is another step in sustaining our long-term relationship with Oracle, said Mehmet Nane, General Manager, Teknosa. These Oracle Retail applications are helping us to introduce more consistency around performance, operations and customer service.

Teknosas strategy for ensuring space allocation tailored to local customer preferences or high-margin goods will help drive store performance and maximise return on merchandisable space, said Duncan Angove, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Oracle Retail. Oracle can help businesses to create short-term value, whilst providing long-term competitive advantage.
