Agilysys (Europe) Ltd., part of Agilysys, Inc., a provider of information technology and hospitality software solutions, has revealed details of its first client in France to acquire the ResPAK solution for restaurant and dining management. The 5-star luxury hotel, Park Hyatt ParisVendme, is the showcase property of the Hyatt Group in France. Located within walking distance of landmarks such as the Place Vendme, the Place de La Concorde, the Champs-Elyses and the Louvre, it is close to the capital's most exclusive shops on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honor.

Assistant food & beverage manager, Thibault de Vries, came to Park Hyatt Paris-Vendme in 2007 from the Grand Hyatt Singapore, having used the ResPAK solution there for three years. "When I started to look to implement a new reservation system in Paris, I knew how ResPAK worked and how user-friendly and powerful it is."

Thibault de Vries invited Agilysys and a handful of French providers to demonstrate their systems. "For our staff to use the system daily, we needed something that was easy, flexible and fast. I knew ResPAK would offer this." However, the critical deciding factor was the system's database and reporting. "We saw that the database and analysis in other systems were not as developed or as strong as those in ResPAK. This is an important lack, as we want to be able to store and retrieve guest data, to obtain business intelligence to use in Marketing and PR.  Again, having used ResPAK, I knew how powerful its reporting facilities were."

Agilysys secured the ResPAK contract and de Vries opted to acquire the software together with full implementation and training services as a complete solution directly from Agilysys, in order to benefit from their extensive experience in deploying ResPAK worldwide. The solution is now installed in three areas within the hotel:  Le Bar, the Pur restaurant and Les Orchides restaurant.

"The ability to deliver truly personalised service is critical to us," explains de Vries. "We will use ResPAK to further customise our offer to the needs and tastes of our guests." As an example, de Vries quotes the special Waygu beef that Pur carries on its menu. "Thanks to ResPAK, we will be able to record who chooses our Waygu beef, how they like it cooked and their preferred wines to accompany it. Not only will we be better able to serve them next time they select this dish, but we can also invite them to special Waygu beef evenings for example."

ResPAK will help de Vries and his team to streamline reservations in all three areas of the hotel. "In Les Orchides where we serve up to 60 covers at lunchtime, ResPAK may help us to optimise table utilisation by analysing how far in advance people book and how many covers they reserve.  In Le Bar where we serve tapas from 6pm each day, we will use ResPAK to track the spend of our many regular guests."

"ResPAK will be a good tool for any promotions we plan," de Vries continues enthusiastically. "In October, we are running our Masters of Food & Wine Tour of the World event.  Our head chef has invited five internationally famous chefs to cook dinner, to showcase their region's cuisine. We will retrieve customer data from ResPAK to pinpoint our 'regulars,' then make personal contact to invite them to this gastronomic event, possibly as our guests."

Adds Tina Stehle, senior vice president and general manager of Agilysys Hospitality Solutions Group: "We are delighted that ResPAK has been chosen to enhance the already high standards of service at one of the world's great hotels. This new contract is further evidence of the Agilysys focus in the French hotel, attractions, food service and stadia sectors."

ResPAK is a product of Analytical Systems Pty. Ltd
