JDA Software Group, Inc., The Supply Chain Company, has announced that BUT International S.A., a 1.7 billion (2009) French consumer electronics and household appliances retailer, has successfully implemented JDA Space Planning.

The company, which operates more than 200 stores and features more than 30,000 individual SKUs, selected JDA's proven Space Planning solution to help it more efficiently execute category plans that optimise the position, performance and layout of product categories, as well as manage multiple planograms simultaneously. Following a speed-to-value implementation, BUT International expects that JDA Space Planning will help drive sales and improve inventory management by ensuring that product assortments accurately align with consumer demand.

"The consumer electronics and appliances environment constantly changes since it is based on new developments in technology and style," said Jrme Cointe, merchandising manager, BUT International. "We must keep up with these changes in order to satisfy consumer demand. With JDA's proven Space Planning technology, we will gain a competitive advantage by delivering improved assortments, executing better planograms and increasing sales of the right products at higher margins."

Cointe added that JDA Space Planning's user-friendly features and popularity among leading companies around the world made it an easy selection over other space management applications in the market.

Brian Mort, JDA's regional vice president, EMEA, stated: "Retailers that want to flourish in today's consumer-driven environment require proven processes and solutions that optimise space and category management strategies and help meet shopper expectations. BUT International leverages the power of JDA's Space Planning solution to achieve these objectives through the efficient execution of demand-driven category plans. We look forward to supporting BUT International in its efforts to increase profitability, maximise sales per selling area and satisfy consumer demand."
