Peach, one of the UK's most influential gastropub operations, has installed POSLink touchscreen technology in all of its 13 pubs. The decision to invest in POSLink, which has been developed by EPOS specialists, Intelligent Business Solutions, is part of a drive to deliver the ultimate guest experience and give its business partners genuine operational flexibility.

The award-winning pub company, based across Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and the north Home Counties, is a keen advocate of guest recommendations - with three out of every four guests recommending its pubs compared to an 60% industry average.

"POSLink is a great piece of EPOS software because it is so easy to use and automatically does a lot of the thinking for our teams when they are serving guests. It will automatically split bills, no matter how complicated the requests, and it will run countdown features so we know the exact state of play with menu availability - just two of its many time saving and intelligent functions," said Peach co-founder Hamish Stoddart.

"We may not be the biggest but people will get the best experience, right across the board, including the best touchscreen solution. POSLinks works for us because it is totally flexible and can be configured to our needs. Other solutions we looked at were not so adaptable."

Peach runs a unique joint venture scheme with business partners investing in and running several pubs in the group.  Using POSLink gives them the flexibility to be independent and creative.

"A lot of touchscreen solutions are very rigid where changes can only be carried out at head office. With POSLink we can change daily specials at the till on a house by house basis so partners can change prices and descriptions instantly. It gives them operational flexibility to directly influence their pubs on a day to day, session by session basis," said Hamish.

"From my point of view, how we use POSLink will change as our business evolves and we are constantly looking at ways of improving the guest experience. POSLink's loyalty module is one area we're exploring."

"We've been involved with Peach since the business was launched and POSLink has been designed to instinctively and intelligently meet the demands of top hospitality professionals like Hamish and his business partner and Peach co-founder, Lee Cash. All our clients have had an input," said Gareth Powell, managing director of Intelligent Business Systems.

"The solution has been developed to change the way the hospitality industry views touchscreen technology, one that could effortlessly and seamlessly integrate into an existing operational and management structure -  without having the massive trouble and inconvenience of having to change business practices, as is often the case when new IT technology is being introduced into an organisation."

"We wanted a solution that would be the logical, automatic choice for hospitality professionals. A solution that has the functionality, flexibility, and ease of use to help people do their jobs better and run better businesses.  We think we have achieved all this and a lot more besides with POSlink, as Hamish and his fellow professionals can testify."

"POSLink has numerous time-saving short cuts and intuitively and intelligently helps staff sell and process orders so they can focus on their guests. There are literally hundreds of ways it does this - which added together creates a seamless touchscreen solution," said Gareth.

POSLink also integrates with IBS' StockLink enterprise management solution, enabling Peach to control general sales reporting and stock checks and feeds its management team with the relevant business reports necessary to drive day-to-day operations and strategic decision making.
