Timbuk2 wins Industry Achievement Award for Business Analytics powered by PivotLink

PivotLink, a provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions delivered via Software as a Service (SaaS), salutes SF-based customer Timbuk2 for winning the "Industry Achievement Award for Business Analytics Excellence" from Aberdeen Group, the information technology (IT) analyst firm. The award acknowledges an organization that has demonstrated the creative application of analytics to drive business value.

Timbuk2 business analyst Charles Schweiger accepted the award at the Aberdeen Group Business Analytics Summit in Boston.

Timbuk2's messenger bags and accessories are popular with road warriors and adventure-seekers who tote everything from clothes to iPads. Timbuk2 uses PivotLink reports and dashboards to analyze inventory, orders and customer preferences across seven sales channels, including www.timbuk2.com and partners such as www.amazon.com, www.REI.com and www.zappos.com.

"Our five award nominees pushed the boundaries of business intelligence by bringing analytics to new users and applying it to new business applications," said David White, senior research analyst, Aberdeen Group. "Timbuk2 won the award because it was able to bring BI into the company and make it a foundational part of the business, providing insight and intelligence across the supply chain without any internal IT resources."

"Timbuk2's success illustrates the tremendous value organizations gain by using PivotLink to drive insights from massive amounts of data," said Bruce Armstrong, president & CEO at PivotLink. "We salute Timbuk2's team on this outstanding achievement and are proud that PivotLink's market-leading platform is contributing to their growth and success."

Timbuk2 selected PivotLink to integrate and access large volumes of data from its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with its third party data warehouse and other business data without draining IT resources.
