Casio appoints EPOS Distributor as UK distributor for Android-based EPoS system and range of handhelds

EPOS Distributor, the York based Specialist Retail IT distributor, has become a UK Distributor for Casio and will be distributing the newly released VX-100 Android based EPoS system and the range of handheld data capture terminals to further expand its product offering to EPoS resellers.

The VX-100 is the first EPOS system running the Android platform for both EPoS Distributor and Casio therefore striking an exciting new product development for the companies and aims to close a gap in the Android market for its resellers. This compact EPOS terminal is equipped with a 10.4 inch colour main display with full-touch screen operation and splash proof panel, a sub-display that is great for showing information to customers, and a built-in thermal printer to generate receipts. An optional cash drawer can also be added so the terminal can be used as a cash register. This EPOS system provides resellers with a terminal that has a low cost of entry, no costly licensing fees and all development tools are free of charge. The VX-100 is designed for use in a wide selection of retail environments including independent retail stores, multi-nationals, restaurants, and works as both a standalone system or as part of a networked system. No interface cables are required and the EPOS system is simply unpacked, powered-up and ready to use.

EPoS Distributor will also be distributing Casio handheld terminals including the DT series of rugged mobile devices including the DT-X7, DT-X8 and DT-X30, as well as the IT-300 and IT-800. Furthermore the IT-3100 from Casio will be replaced by the IT-9000 and EPoS Distributor will have this product available when it is launched in February 2012.
