Wipro Retail showcases new developments and takes sponsorship at Retail Business Technology Expo

Wipro, the IT and business services company, will be launching FLoW, its new Oracle-based pricing, supply chain and finance management solution designed specifically for retail franchises and wholesalers, as well as showcasing its Oracle Retail Practice competencies on stand 330, in addition to sponsoring the VIP Lounge for the second year running.

FLoW is a bolt-on solution to the Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) and enables users to perform and view wholesaler operations side-by-side with the Oracle Retail Suite. This significantly increases visibility and operational efficiency, as users can now track and manage their integrated operations of Retail, Franchise and Wholesale on screen, an advantage not previously available.

Dr Brad Poulson, Principal Consultant at Wipro Retail, will be speaking about the challenges of retailers demanding vanilla software while continuing to expect distinction from the competition, looking at practical tips for retailers and IT service providers to support this approach, in Theatre B, at 12:25pm on 14th March. The seminar is titled, 'why retailers always think they are unique'.

The Wipro service offering, teamed with the capabilities of the Oracle Retail Practice, will also be exhibited on the stand. Mike Davies, Vice President, Wipro Retail, said, "We are the business transformation partner to some of the world's most successful retailers. As a Diamond Level Partner, we have the highest membership that demonstrates our highly-skilled implementation resources and breadth of specialisations across the Oracle Retail Practice Competency hardware and software products. The Wipro Retail Oracle Practice provides implementation, upgrade and application development solutions as well as flexible outsourcing solutions through a network of global Competency Centres."

Wipro will also be introducing its Innovation Team to visitors at the show, whose role is to generate ideas which address critical business issues. Working with some of the leading names in global retailing, the team played a critical role in the development of the new FLoW product. They have also recently developed a search engine application that provides intelligent responses to search questions, rather than simply displaying all the potential sources as most engines do currently.

Davies, continues, "The Retail Business Technology Expo provides a great platform for us to exhibit some of our new innovations, giving retailers the opportunity to get a glimpse of what's in store for 2012. After sponsoring the VIP Lounge last year, we decided to undertake a stand to showcase our new products and to promote the great work our Innovation Team is doing."
Retail Business Technology Expo will take place from 13th 14th March 2012 at London's Earls Court.
