Varlink, the York-based mobile computing and data capture hardware distributor, has announced the launch of the Trimble Juno T41 Rugged Handheld Computer. The Juno T41 is an ultra rugged and SIM-card ready data capture device, providing a solution to any industry demanding a rugged smartphone-inspired field computer for data collection and workforce management.

The Juno T41 handheld provides reliable, developer-friendly computing in any field based conditions, with the option of Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 or Android 2.3.4 operating systems.



Jim Sheldon, General Manager of Trimble's Mobile Computing Solutions Division commented: "With the release of the Juno T41, we are providing a brand-new rugged handheld that delivers the capabilities and convenience of a smartphone. This meets specific demands we've heard from the marketplace and we're pleased to launch it as the first of several new products in the next year from the Trimble MCS division, giving our customers improved functionality and more options in the handheld computer space."

Built with the user in mind, this compact rugged PDA is equipped with a 1 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM ensuring any application runs quickly and effectively. The integrated 8 megapixel camera allows users to capture imagery out in the field, while the accurate 2-4m GPS receiver automatically adds a time and location stamp. The option of integrated Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity enables any information to be uploaded to a central database in real-time.
 
Featuring a 4.3" sunlight readable Gorilla Glass display alongside an ingress protection option of either 65 or 68, the Juno T41 provides peace of mind for users, even in the harshest environments. The device features voice, SMS text and 3.75G data transfer capabilities on GSM cellular networks worldwide, providing cellular communication to workers out in the field. The built in accelerometer allows users to tilt the screen to use the Juno T41 as a either a smartphone or tablet based device.
 
This exciting new addition to the Trimble range is now available to order from Varlink, shipping will begin in September, 2012.
