This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Sainsbury's renews contract with multichannel logistics specialist iForce until 2014.

iForce, the multichannel logistics provider for retailers such as Cath Kidston and John Lewis, has further extended its existing multichannel contract with Sainsbury's.

In September 2009, iForce and Sainsbury's created a first in European distribution by combining the strengths of online fulfilment and returns processing under one roof, at their site in Corby.  Since then, they have gone from strength to strength, with iForce helping to facilitate the successful roll out of Sainsbury's Click and Collect to over 900 stores in the UK. This two year contract extension will run until April 2014.

iForce will continue to deliver all online fulfilment of general merchandise items for Sainsbury's and process all non-food returns for their online and store retail operation, as they have done for the last three years.

Mark Hewitt, CEO iForce said "We are delighted to have extended our relationship with Sainsbury's and look forward to creating additional solutions that will assist their ongoing growth in this retail space for the next two years and beyond.".

Colin Young, Sainsbury's General Manager, Direct Logistics  added "We have a very productive relationship with iForce, drawing on their experience in this particular retail environment and are delighted to extend the existing partnership for a further two years."
