Retail heavy hitter Stephen Robertson joins Legend

Legend, the retail engagement resource with brands including Retail Business Technology Expo, Retail Design Expo, Retail Design World and Essential Retail has appointed Stephen Robertson as board consultant.

Robertson has 20 years of senior experience in the retail industry. His previous roles include7 years as marketing director at B&Q before leading the acquisition of Screwfix Direct which he then chaired through a period of strong growth. Subsequently, he served on the boards of WH Smith and Woolworths, and went onto become Director General of the British Retail Consortium for 5 years. In addition to his role at Legend, Robertson currently serves as chairman Business West (not for profit business services organisation), non-executive director of the fast growing Timpson Group, non-executive director at Hargreaves Lansdown plc and retail specialist Clipper Logistics plc.

Robertson said, "the retail industry is going through such a period of dramatic change that it's a really critical time to join a company that is embracing this state of flux and delivering solutions to retailers, from events to retail insights, that will make a beneficial impact to a retailers business. RBTE is already an established and respected event, and the addition of Retail Design Expo and Retail Design World to the Legend portfolio will provide the industry with all the solutions encompassing the online and offline retail offering under one roof."
