Delsey, the worldwide number two retailer in luggage with over 6,000 stores across five continents, has selected Yourcegid Retail to support its expansion across Asia, including India. In less than four months, this international solution has already been deployed in more than forty stores in Hong Kong and China, enabling the brand to optimise its retail activities and grow its store network. The Yourcegid Retail solution provides best-in-class merchandising, sales, clienteling and CRM features that include advanced loyalty programs, and click and collect.
Founded in 1946, Delsey is a French company specialising in the design and manufacture of luggage. With annual sales of 150 million euros and a product sold every ten seconds, Delsey is currently the world's number two leader in the luggage sector. The brand is now focused on international expansion – especially growing its distribution network in Asia and the Indian subcontinent. To support this expansion, the company was looking for a long term technology partner with an established retail management solution that is localised worldwide.
"We needed a proven best-in-class solution to manage our retail activities in Asia and India, and a committed partner with strong international expertise and reach," explains Cathérine De Bleeker, Global Marketing Director at Delsey.
An internationally committed IT partner
After analysing the market, Delsey chose Yourcegid Retail.
"Cegid's industry expertise and the company's commitment to new markets, especially in Asia, as well as its ability to understand our needs, convinced us," continues De Bleeker.
Among other reasons, she was impressed by Yourcegid Retail's innovative functionality, such as the advanced CRM, Omnichannel integration etc., and by the software group's culture, which is similar to that of Delsey:
"It's a French company like we are. And like us, Cegid has succeeded across international borders."
Delsey only had a few months to implement Yourcegid Retail into its expanding retail network.
"Scheduling was very tight, but the instant synergy between our teams at Delsey and those of Cegid enabled us to meet the deadline of the project," states De Bleeker.
It only took one summer for Yourcegid Retail to be deployed in forty stores in Hong Kong and China; and in 2014 and 2015, it will be the turn of Singapore, Korea and India.
"We forecast annual growth of at least twenty percent for our Asian network, but things could move even faster with the opening of new franchises."
The ease with which Yourcegid Retail can be deployed is a real advantage in this area, as is Cegid support in change management. "Their teams are true best practice advisors. For us, this is a real advantage."
A proven industry solution
Choosing Yourcegid Retail means that Delsey now has a best-in-class retail management solution to optimise its merchandising and sales management, as well as support the brand's Omnichannel strategy.
The solution provides Delsey with a point-of-sale and store management system that is integrated with local fiscal, language, industry requirements (multi-taxes, multi-languages, etc.). Yourcegid Retail features a unique and centralised database shared by all channels and updated in real-time. This includes all customer, product, price and sales data.
"Having a single centralised database managing the flow of merchandise, customer and sales data across all our distribution channels in real-time was key for us. It also gives us the ability to continuously track and do reports on our sales and activities worldwide," notes De Bleeker.
In an instant, Delsey is able to optimise its offer, ensure the right products are in the right stores, at the right price and at the right time. Yourcegid Retail can also serve Delsey's customers better by providing new services, including loyalty programs, promotions and web-to-store services – such as the possibility of ordering online and picking up the product in any brand store.
"Cegid clearly understands our expectations and provides the solutions. With this partner, anything seems possible. There are never issues, just solutions," she concludes.
