This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Primera's full range of Label Production Solutions at the 35th London Wine Fair.

Individual product packaging and labelling is getting more and more important. Unfortunately small and mid-sized wineries and wine importers don't have the financial resources or the fitting equipment to implement multinational, personalised and seasonal packaging campaigns. They either have to go for standard labels, which apparently do not have a special eye-catching look to separate them from the big brands, or they design and print their own labels. For those applications Primera Technology Europe, leading manufacturer of label printing equipment, presents its inkjet-based LX-Series colour label printers at London Wine Fair, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary.

Primera will show short to medium-run solutions using inkjet technology, such as the LX900e Colour Label Printer. Its print resolution of 4800 dpi guarantees a printout in photorealistic quality and enables users to add vibrant pictures of their products next to small texts such as ingredients or barcodes and still every detail of that label is razor-sharp. Labels can be printed whenever they are needed and in the required quantity. Separate ink cartridges for each colour keep operating costs low. Short runs are printed fast and efficiently, helping to increase the production of your products.

Besides its existing range of dry-toner and inkjet-based label printers Primera Technology Europe will also show its new LX2000e Colour Label Printer, an industrial-grade desktop printer.

LX2000e features large ink tanks for lower cost per label, fast print speeds and pigment ink for better water and UV resistance. Other highlights include built-in wired/Ethernet or wireless connection options, "pizza wheel" cutter, front colour LCD control panel and viewing window for label stock levels.

An extensive range of label materials offers a great choice of label surfaces, which can be used to attract different customers. For example Primera's Vintage Paper Material is perfect for wine bottles transporting the idea of a rare and good bottle of wine.

For wine labels that should convey luxury and elegance Primera offers the FX400e Foil Printer that adds metallic gold, silver or colour foil to inkjet- or laser-printed labels.

Primera's label product range is completed by the AP-Series Label Applicators. The AP362e Label Applicator for applying front and back labels to round containers and the AP550e Flat-Surface Label Applicator for square sided bottles, boxes, pouches and bags apply labels faster, more accurately and wrinkle-free in exactly the location desired. This gives finished products a highly professional look and significantly increases the number of containers that can be labelled per hour versus manually applying labels.

On their stand # J48, Primera employees will happily inform winegrower and importers about its label printing equipment, the wide range of label materials and their different usability.
