At the forthcoming Home Delivery World 2016, which takes place in Atlanta, USA, from March 30-31, 2016, the U-Freight Group (UFL) will be delivering advice on the logistics, customs and fiscal issues associated with the delivery into China of goods bought via online shopping or overseas agents.
Terence Tsang, Senior VP - Business Development, U-Freight America, Inc will explain some of regulations that need to be complied with in order not to fall foul of China's Customs authorities, as well as outline the logistics solutions that are currently available and how they should be applied.
Tsang will also describe some of the practical operational issues that need to be addressed. Tsang says: "The regulations for e-commerce inbound into China are new and few market players understand them well, but we feel that U-Freight understands them as well as any and is already able to handle the business. Most critically, unlike many logistics service providers, U-Freight already has a system that can connect e-commerce / e-shop platforms with China Customs / CIQ that delivers data transparency, which is a requirement of the Chinese authorities.
"In order to to protect consumer interests, strengthen monitoring of product safety and safeguard national tax receipts, the Chinese government is implementing relevant inspection and quarantine mechanisms aimed at strengthening market regulation and standardising procedures. It has set up cross-border e-commerce import service pilots in several mainland cities. Meanwhile, free trade zones and qualified cities can also conduct cross-border e-commerce import business."
In outlining the development of cross-border e-commerce import business into China, Tsang will also detail the operational aspects of the so-called Sunshine Channel - the unique mode in practicing cross-border e-commerce in China. This will include advice on the practical operations in the workflow of the Sunshine Channel; the opportunities for overseas enterprises; and how to distinguish and select a suitable logistics solution. Tsang will also demonstrate the advantages and the application of each available logistics solution under the Sunshine Channel.
