This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Checkpoint Systems chosen by JYSK NORDIC as global partner for all its EAS solutions.

Checkpoint Systems, the global supplier of product availability solutions for the retail industry, has announced that international chain JYSK NORDIC, which sells "everything for the home", has selected it as its global partner for a full roll-out of RF-based electronic article surveillance (EAS) solutions in 18 countries*.

JYSK's objective is to reduce shrinkage, ensure products are available for purchase and speed-up its checkout process. The key challenge for the retailer was improving customer experience, while enhancing its loss prevention capabilities.

"We have worked with Checkpoint in the past and trust that it will deliver this large-scale project. With Checkpoint, we found a vendor that could provide the best solutions to meet our EAS requirements. We were impressed with the enhanced detection, which enables us to place antennas up to six foot apart. We fully expect the continued roll-out to deliver a reduction in shrinkage and improve our customers' experience in-store," says Keld Marott, Director Service Centre at JYSK.

Per Levin, President of Merchandise Availability Solutions at Checkpoint Systems, added: "We're pleased to be helping JYSK with the roll-out of this EAS programme. Our global footprint allows international retailers to complete roll-outs quickly and to a high standard, so they can benefit from their investment in a short period of time."

1000 stores currently use Checkpoint's EAS antennas and JYSK will now use CLASSIC STREET antennas at all new stores it opens across the globe. The retailer's suppliers will now apply Checkpoint's 410 and 710 labels to products at the point of manufacture, enhancing protection on items such as pillows and bed linens. Gen 3 Hard Tags and Sombrero tags will be applied in store to larger, high-risk products. The solutions will enable JYSK to widen the aisle width at the point of sales, creating a pleasant yet secure shopping experience.

The retailer will also utilise Counterpoint ECO deactivators at the point of sale, providing increased deactivation performance on smaller tags and labels, enabling it to decrease false alarms.

With technical experts in all 18 countries, Checkpoint will provide installation and on-going support, ensuring that the retailer's investment in EAS technology is maximised.
