Datalogic, a global leader in Automatic Data Capture and Industrial Automation markets, and producer of barcode readers, mobile computers, sensors, vision systems and laser marking equipment, has announced that RMS has been awarded ISV status in its Partner Advantage Programme.

With many years of experience within the retail, healthcare and hospitality sectors, RMS has long recognised the challenges that distributed businesses face. "We have worked closely with these industries to develop a modular and cost-effective solution that combats the inefficiencies email, company intranets, complicated HR, workforce, print and project management toolsets bring to a typical business day," explains Rob Morgan, New Business Development at RMS. "At the beginning of this year we launched Metro, a single, common, cloud-based platform with nine interconnected modules; each designed to help retailers and other distributed industries 'do business better'".

During the process of applying for ISV partner status, Datalogic worked in collaboration with RMS to test the Metro platform on its newly launched Android-based mobile computer, DL-Axist. "After meeting Datalogic at RBTE in March, we immediately realised that there was a lot of synergy between our two companies. Through our partnership with Datalogic, we can offer our customers a rugged, functional mobile solution that gives users at all levels, immediate access to information without needing to leave the shop floor," continues Morgan.

The ISV element of Datalogic partner advantage programme is designed to promote and encourage collaboration that will deliver best of breed applications and solutions which address the business pain points of end-user organisations across EMEA.

Mike Doyle, Regional Director UK and Ireland for Datalogic concludes: "We recognise that our software partners provide a vital element of the overall solutions that enable end user customers to optimise their business processes. RMS have developed an exciting platform that provides businesses with the potential to manage every aspect of their daily operations. We look forward to having them as part of the ISV programme and hope that we can leverage our joint capabilities to help our customers."

The RMS Metro solution has recently been shortlisted for the 'In-store Technology of the Year Award' at this year's Retail Systems Awards.
