This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Scandit showcases new MatrixScan scanning and AR tracking capability at RBTE.

Scandit, developer of software-based barcode scanning solutions for smartphones, tablets, and wearable devices, demonstrated its new scanning feature, MatrixScan, at Retail Business Technology Expo (RBTE) 2017 in London. Scandit also demonstrated a range of additional mobile data capture solutions.

Launched as a feature for the new Scandit Barcode Scanner SDK 5.2, MatrixScan enables users of any camera-equipped device to locate, track and decode multiple barcodes at once and adds visual feedback in the user interface to indicate which barcodes have already been scanned.

The Scandit stand also featured demonstrations of the recently released Scandit Case for iPod touch, the next-generation version of the Scandit Case which features improved materials that increase ruggedness and grip. The Scandit Case works with all of Scandit's mobile scanning solutions, provides protection during everyday activities and offers a scanning experience equivalent to handheld scanners and mobile computers at a fraction of the cost.

Visitors also saw version 2.0 of Scandit Flow for iOS and Android. This latest release of the Scandit Flow platform includes significant improvements making it easier for enterprises to quickly build, deploy and manage mobile data capture solutions for key barcode scanning workflows across the supply chain.

"RBTE provides a great forum for us to explain how retail professionals are increasingly scanning with traditional mobile devices to lower their costs and streamline their operations," said Samuel Mueller, CEO of Scandit. "Retailers can achieve equivalent or improved scanning performance on a smart device at a fraction of the total cost of ownership (TCO) of traditional scanners."
