This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Dixons Carphone and Volume Network light up London with new LED light installations.

Volume Network, provider of 4K content delivery solutions to electronic retailers in Europe, has announced a series of project completions on behalf of Dixons Carphone.

The projects, which have been in development since July 2017, include a new super bright LED screen at the flagship Evo store, a complete redesign at Dixons Travel's store in London Heathrow Terminal 3, and, most recently, a 10-store LED installation across the UK.

LED Install at Carphone Warehouse

The 10-store installation for Dixons Carphone marks the largest rollout of LED screens by a single retailer in the United Kingdom. The installation includes 11 screens, nine of which are 2.5 x 1.5m LED screens that feature a 2.8mm pixel pitch, which were all created in-house by Volume Network. The screens are connected and managed via Hubble, Volume Network's content management system that combines content synchronisation capabilities, media management, automated scheduling and real-time data and reporting, among other features. In addition, Hubble also proactively identifies power failures, heat of screens and individual LED failure to prevent occurrences of downtime.

"Today, more than ever, in-store displays are playing a strategic and pivotal role in retailers' ability to connect with customers. The mark of a modern retailer is a fluid and flexible in-store model that allows brands to express themselves in new and highly visual ways, deliver content relevant to the individual, and, ultimately, provide customers with an informative and fun experience," said Andrew Hall, Founder and CEO of Volume Network.

Dixon's Travel, Heathrow Terminal 3

In late 2017, Volume Network helped Dixons Travel complete a redesign of its store at Heathrow Terminal 3, which became the first retail store to introduce digital bay headers while also leveraging the ability to deliver contextual content in real-time to travellers. The installation, which won the DFNI Product Award for Best New Store in December 2017, allows Dixons Travel to deliver live content to travellers based on upcoming departure flights and local destination times, while also introducing up-to-the-minute pricing to ensure customers have the best prices available. The installation marks the widest pixel pitch of any indoor retail installation in the world at 21,528 pixels wide, and it was all designed, installed and managed by Volume Network and its Hubble content management system.

Super Bright LED Screen at Carphone Warehouse

Also in 2017, Volume Network developed and installed a 2 x 3m super bright LED screen with 2.8mm pitch at Dixons Carphone's flagship Evo store, which faces Tottenham Court Road station. The super bright screen is one of the brightest window displays in the UK and is designed with technology that allows the screen to withstand direct sunlight and window reflections, ensuring it can be seen even on the brightest summer day.

"We are extremely proud of our work in 2017 and are fortunate to have a collaborative partner in Dixons Carphone, which is constantly pushing the limits of customer experience through highly engaging in-store displays and content," added Hall.
