UK retail software vendor, itim, which supplies point-of-sale, merchandising and supply chain solutions to retailers including The Entertainer, Debenhams and Sainsbury, has appointed a new UK managing director to assist with the continuing growth of the company.

Simon Evetts has been appointed to the new managerial role at itim in response to increased activity in the UK market and strong growth plans, focused around its expanded multi-channel, digital engagement and optimisation capabilities. New retail customer wins in 2017 include Jones Bootmaker, The White Company, JD Sports and Historic Royal Palaces.

Evetts previously held leadership roles at various leading consultancy and software businesses, including Managing Director of Retail at Alvarez and Marsal, Partner at IBM Global Business Services, Chief Technology Officer at Javelin Group and Product Director at Retail Business Solutions. He has helped many retailers improve financial and operational performance through greater use of technology, including Tesco, Asda, Argos and Debenhams, and has led IT-based improvement programmes across ecommerce, multi-channel, marketing, stores, fulfilment, warehouse management, buying and merchandising and contact centres.

"Simon will enable us to increase our engagement with clients at the most senior level," says Ali Athar, chief executive at itim. "He has a wealth of experience in helping clients achieve successful business outcomes, especially around improved profitability and operational performance. He is one of the pioneers and thought-leaders in multi-channel retailing, having first helped retailers go online nearly twenty years ago."
