This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Williams Commerce records highest UK rate of Magento 1 to Magento 2 conversion.

Williams Commerce, a Leicester and London-based ecommerce specialist and Magento Commerce partner, is recording the highest rate of conversion for its clients from Magento 1 to Magento 2 in the UK.

Magento 1 end of life is fast approaching, with a date of June 2020 released as to when support will no longer be delivered for businesses operating on this platform.

In the run up to this date, Williams Commerce has worked closely with its clients that have been operating on the Magento 1 platform. This includes active discussion on best practices and roadmapping out the transition in a seamless, straightforward way.

This close collaboration has led to the Williams Commerce team overseeing the conversion of 85% of its existing Magento 1 clients to the Magento 2 platform.

The Williams Commerce team will be working with current Magento 1 partners to help them move to Magento 2 before June 2020, with many conversion projects already completed. This means businesses can future-proof their ecommerce websites by embracing the full capabilities of Magento 2.

The remaining 15% of clients are either moving to other ecommerce platforms Williams Commerce provides, or are still considering their best path.

Williams Commerce has produced a free Magento 2 migration guide to help support businesses as Magento 1 end of life approaches.

The Williams Commerce team also learned at a recent quarterly Magento partner meeting that the 85% figure was the highest rate of conversion seen by a Magento partner in the UK.

Taking place at Adobe’s Old Street office in London, this partner meeting provided the Williams Commerce team with the chance to discuss strategy, marketing plans, new opportunities and the ongoing partnership with the Magento team.

Members of Williams Commerce met with the complete Magento customer success team, sales team and partner account managers in what was a very positive and proactive meeting.

Williams Commerce is continuing to seek and secure new merchant opportunities around migration to Magento 2, with savvy businesses taking advantage of the company’s expertise in this important area of ecommerce.

“Long term partnerships are a key feature of Williams Commerce’s offering, with increasing numbers of retailers preferring the full service digital agency model to help streamline efficiencies,” said Rob Williams, CEO of Williams Commerce. “With 85% of our current Magento 1 client list choosing Williams Commerce as their continued partner of choice for making the move to Magento 2, we are looking forward to leading our clients across user experience, digital marketing, ecommerce design and Magento Commerce development to realise greater heights of success of the formidable Magento 2 platform.”
