North American sales leader takes on global role to bring the company’s featherlight wearable barcode scanners to businesses seeking solutions for greater supply chain efficiency and individual worker ergonomics

ProGlove, the ergonomic wearables provider, has appointed Charlie Grieco to the role of Chief Revenue Officer for the global business.  Grieco joined ProGlove in April 2019 to build the North American region for Munich-based ProGlove.

He quickly developed a strong sales strategy with a primary focus on partnering with select channel resellers to bring the wearable barcode scanning solution to market. This focus brought 100+% growth year-over-year, and the company’s first 7-digit sale to a major retailer for its warehousing and distribution center operations.

Says Proglove CEO, Andreas Koenig, about the appointment, “From day one I felt that Charlie Grieco would make a great difference for us in the U.S., and he proved me right: Charlie has been an outstanding boost for our business development in the Americas from the get-go.  While this may have to do with the fact that he is a terrific salesman, it is more about the leadership Charlie stands for. He demonstrated that he can build and lead a team. His hard work and commitment are fantastic. But more importantly: Charlie set a standard by the way he communicates, and how he motivates his team. In short: Charlie Grieco is an embodiment of our values and of our culture, and I am convinced that our entire organization benefits by this kind of leadership in the sale of our products.”

ProGlove’s flagship product is the MARK family of wearable barcode scanners which untether workers from workstations to keep work flowing. This includes the MARK basic, MARK 2, and new MARK Display scanners which are exceptionally slim, lightweight, and durable. Interchangeably, these matchbox-sized scanners mount into personal wearables – a glove, wrap, or clip reel – that include a built-in trigger to activate the scanning function. Acoustic, visual, and haptic feedback signal success for each scan; the new MARK Display also features a high contrast, non-reflective, e-ink display to bring crucial information right to the back of the hand of the mobile worker. And because wearables are by definition personal and worn, there is less opportunity to spread germs between workers and less opportunity for scanners to be dropped or misplaced.

“It’s clear there is tremendous demand for solutions that benefit frontline workers ergonomically and speed up work processes at the same time,” says Charlie Grieco. “Every business is interested in finding new efficiencies to save time and money, and the encumberances of common barcode scanners are pain points for both workers and the supply chain. I am excited to lead the global ProGlove team in solving these problems for operations teams everywhere.”
