This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Geolytix wins prestigious Queen's Award for International Trade.

Geolytix, location planning specialists, won in the International Trade category having achieved rapid growth and expansion overseas. Almost 50% of turnover is from international markets with teams in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tokyo, Melbourne, Cape Town and Warsaw joining established teams in London and Leeds.

Geolytix were announced as winners of the International Trade Award for Outstanding Short-Term Growth in overseas sales, having rapidly expanded into new markets over the last three years.

The London based consultancy helps its customers make informed decisions about how to enhance their locations. They provide expertise in developing expansion plans, network optimisations and multi-channel strategies, underpinned by bespoke data, forecasting models and mapping tools.

Founded in 2011 by Blair Freebairn and Sarah Hitchcock, Geolytix is an agile company with 37 people. Working across multiple markets and sectors, their outstanding growth has been achieved with no outside investment and the company is owned by its employees.

This is the company's second Queen's Award win, having received the Innovation Award in 2016. Blair Freebairn praised the team for their sterling efforts: "For such a small independent company the fact that we have grown so strongly internationally, and work with so many of the world's leading retailers and brands, is a testament to the outstanding talent that runs throughout our business."

Investing in stores and online retail is expensive. With hundreds of years of retail experience within the company, Geolytix is the partner of choice for global brands with recent work spanning a grocer in Thailand, a fast-food retailer in Mongolia, a toy specialist in India, and a global sports brand in Russia.

Blair concludes: "The combination of the two Queen's Awards reflects our unwavering mission to deliver innovation and pioneering data solutions that keep our customers one step ahead of the competition."
