Offering insights into the most effective, tried and tested approaches to managing retail risk, supplier of loss prevention solutions and retail technology, Checkpoint Systems UK, has revealed the conference agenda for its upcoming appearance as title sponsor at Retail Risk London on 22 July 2021.
Exploring the use of RFID data through the retail ecosystem
RFID has long been recognised a key driver in helping retailers deliver a profitable omni-channel experience. Helping Retail Risk attendees discover the multidisciplinary uses of RFID data through the retail ecosystem, Stephen Howells, Director Product Management at Checkpoint Systems, will explore the omnichannel imperative and how retailers can leverage the technology to improve customer experience and inventory management.
The session will enable attendees to better understand the strategic fit of inventory visibility for the customer, partner, and brand owner, across all retail channels. Mr Howells will also use Checkpoint’s global RFID experience to highlight the benefits of inventory accuracy for the whole supply chain in a multi-brand environment.
The role of RFID as the ‘digital spine’
Chairing the first-round table of the day, Colin Peacock, Group Strategy Coordinator of the ECR Retail Loss Group, will join a discussion with fellow retail leaders on the RFID Maturity Model and the role of RFID as the “digital spine” to more profitable omni-channel retailer operations.
Highlighting the findings of its recently published research report, Utilising RFID in Retailing: Insights on Innovation, the panel will highlight how companies are employing the technology for a broader range of purposes.
The report, authored by Emeritus Professor Adrian Beck from the University of Leicester for the ECR Retail Loss Group and supported by Checkpoint Systems, demonstrates the value RFID technology is bringing to businesses and the positive impact it can have on the bottom line. Crucially, it also shows that more retailers than ever are recognising the benefits of RFID and driving uptake within their organisations.
The session will explore and examine the four different levels of RFID usage identified by the research, and what is meant by a basic, developing, established and then leading-edge level of maturity, and how leading-edge retailers view RFID as their “digital spine“ and the enabler to more profitable omni-channel retailing.
Mike French, UK Business Unit Director at Checkpoint Systems, commented: “As title sponsor for Retail Risk London in 2021, we’re delighted to provide attendees with an opportunity to discuss the emerging role of RFID and explore how it can reduce shrinkage, improve the customer experience and transform inventory management.
“With over 50 years of global experience tackling the complex challenges faced by the retail industry, we’re looking forward to joining attendees as they explore how intelligent, data-driven solutions can support the retail industry today and in the future.”
