Children’s charity, Momentum, has received an exterior facelift thanks to a generous donation from signage specialist, FASTSIGNS Kingston.

The charity, which has grown since its beginnings at Kingston Hospital, has set up its new headquarters on Creek Road in East Moleseywhere it will serve families across South West London, Surrey and Sussex.

The FASTSIGNS team has worked with the charity before, supporting the children’s ward refurbishments that Momentum make possible, fitting child-friendly wall graphics at Kingston and St Peter’s Hospitals.

FASTSIGNS Kingston took on the project costs as a way to give back to their local community having seen the difficulties the charity has endured over the last two years after many fundraising events were put on hold.

Commenting on the project, director of the FASTSIGNS Kingston franchise, Mark Phelps, said: “We’ve been based in Kingston for over 16 years, and throughout that time, community has been at the very heart of what we do – so this particular project was very special for us. We were thrilled to have helped Momentum settle into its new home, with brand new signage that will hopefully cement their presence in the area.

“There’s a real sense of pride within our team in the wake of this project. Not only because we’ve been able to give something back to an organisation doing such fantastic work, but also because we’ve come full circle, having provided the team with signage for their very first home in 2009.

“Over the years, we’ve worked on around 40 projects for Momentum, wrapping various rooms in children’s hospitals in the local areas with superhero and other character-themed wall graphics. Going forward, we hope to continue this relationship with the Momentum team, providing colourful, child-friendly graphics that make the hospital experience for young children, and their families, a little less daunting.”

Bianca Effemey, founder and chief executive of Momentum Children’s Charity, added: “The whole team is over the moon with the new signage. During the installation process, there was a real buzz in the office, as it felt like this building was finally ‘ours’. We simply cannot thank the FASTSIGNS team enough. We’ve worked closely with the team for a number of years now, and with life still a little uncertain at the moment, it’s great to have been able to maintain that partnership as we embark on this exciting new chapter.

“We’re hugely proud of our new home and we’re looking forward to working with the FASTSIGNS team again in the near future as they continue to help us make a difference to the lives of seriously ill children and their families in Kingston and beyond.”
