Charles Clinkard strides forward with Vodat International

This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Charles Clinkard strides forward with Vodat International.

Charles Clinkard, the specialist shoe retailer, has renewed its contract with Vodat International, the communications solution provider to the retail industry, who will continue to provide its MPLS network to all stores for EFT, VOIP, polling and general communications.

Charles Clinkard introduced a new EPoS solution across the estate which utilised high speed real-time communication, so the need to maintain and continue to support ADSL communication links in each of its stores was necessary.

Roger West, IT Manager at Charles Clinkard, said, We choose to renew with Vodat based on the competitive proposal that was put forward. Vodats continued support means we experienced no disruption to ours stores as the WAN was already in place. We were already pleased with the quality and the level of support we had received from Vodat so far, so for Clinkards it was an obvious choice to re-sign with Vodat.

West continued, The business has grown over the years and we now operate 34 stores across the country and have over 550 employees, communication from our head office to stores is vital to our business continuing to run successfully.

Mike Bielinski, CEO at Vodat International, said, With the introduction of the new PoS system, the stores needed access to E-Mail, Stock Data, Intranet and a new VOIP phone system. Secure, reliable broadband communications were necessary and we are delighted to continue to provide this service to Charles Clinkard.
