This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Beaverbrooks professionalises in-store signage with Episys Immediate Impact.

Beaverbrooks, the UK's prestige retail jeweller with 65 stores across the UK, is transforming its in-store signage by implementing Immediate Impact from Episys, a global information technology services company, as part of its commitment to customer service.

The retailer wanted to create a consistent look and feel to signage in its stores. Beaverbrooks will start with a pilot in June across five stores, with a view to rolling out the solution over the next three months across the remaining stores.

Beaverbrooks also expects to cut the time taken to create signage. As James Anderton, IT Manager at Beaverbrooks, said, "I have experience of dealing with Episys from working with them closely at another specialist retailer, so I am familiar with the signage solutions they have on offer. As a business, we currently print and post all the signage from our head office to each store which is a very manual process. It also means that a member of our help desk has to devote an entire day to producing the signage required in the stores every six weeks to tie in with the four promotions we run each year, so this means we are a person down. The tickets we use in store are a mixture of printed, hand written, paper and plastic. We, as a brand, pride ourselves on customer service so we need to have all our signage looking the same to maintain our professional approach."

Anderton continues, "When we decided to refresh the way we produced our signage, we wanted a solution that enabled our members of staff to print their own labels as and when they are required. This gives each store the flexibility to react quickly if they decide to run a promotion the following day. Episys had something that ticked all the boxes and we have been nothing but impressed at how they have responded and met our demands."

In addition to using Immediate Impact at the store level, Beaverbrooks will also implement this at the head office so all goods that are sent directly to the stores will be correctly labelled, avoiding confusion for its members of staff.

Peter Lewis, Marketing Director at Episys, adds, "Beaverbrooks prides themselves on the experience they offer their customers when they enter the store. They understand how important it is to maintain brand consistency, so the experience is the same no matter which branch you decide to purchase from."

Based on the Episys Retail Enterprise Suite, Immediate Impact provides retailers with a user-friendly solution that's easy to learn and easy to use.  Users can create and print professional signage within minutes, and investment in the system is kept to a minimum, with a 'pay per use' mechanism that only charges for the signage printed.
