This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Box Technologies launches its 'Personal Stylist 'at RBTE.

Box Technologies (Box), which works with leading retailers, banks and public sector organisations, has launched its 'Personal Stylist', creating a truly interactive tool for today's shopper.

Through the Personal Stylist wall shoppers can view what clothes and shoes will look like on, as opposed to on the hanger, and they can also mix and match other garments to see what compliments the item they are looking to buy.

The technology creates a common interface, and real interaction between the shop and the customer. It also has the ability to provide personalisation, based on a customer's shopping history.

And, retailers are also able to demonstrate their entire product range. For example, they may be in a concession with a limited number of products, but via Personal Stylist they can extend to show their entire collection, using minimal floor space.

Ian Patterson, executive consultant – retail at Box, commented: "The Personal Stylist tool is a real industry first, and we are excited about demoing it to retailers at the Retail Business Technology Expo. Retailers must interact if they are going to win business in today's competitive environment."

Box Technologies, which recently re-launched its website, believes that engaging customers and making them want to shop in a store can be a relatively simple and cheap process. Russell Willcox, chairman, recently said:

"At the end of the day a store needs to be somewhere that the customer wants to visit. A happy and engaged customer will spend longer in store making purchases. Technology needs to bring the customer experience to life – which can often be achieved through low-level and careful investment."

Box retail solutions address a wide range of retail challenges and opportunities including store design and merchandising, augmented reality solutions, often known as 'magic mirror' or 'digital wardrobe'.
