This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Fastsigns' Kingston product portfolio grows as centre expands.

The Kingston branch of global signage specialist Fastsigns has doubled in size, following an expansion project worth £250,000.

The move has seen the centre, located on Ewell Road, increase from 1000sq.ft to 2000sq.ft by acquiring the neighbouring premises. The investment has also enabled the company to purchase leading industry equipment such as a Zund router and EFI flatbed printer.

The centre has increased its in-house capacity with this new technology, and is now able to produce routed sign trays with internal LEDs, amongst other specialist signage products.

Mark Phelps, Director of Fastsigns Kingston, said: "This expansion is testament to the benefits that being part of the Fastsigns network brings. This opportunity has enabled our business to drive forward, aiding the region's commercial sector too as our capabilities improve.

"For example, being located near central London we have a huge demand for large format exterior building signage in the form of routed, aluminium composite sign trays in the area. Thanks to our larger premises and the machinery we can operate, we're now proud to be able to produce these signs entirely in-house."

To celebrate its growing premises, local businesses and the public were invited to watch the new machinery in action at an open day. A number of neighbouring enterprises including Naturally Chinese and Mixteca have already reaped the benefits of the centre's newly acquired capabilities and facilities. Both companies are now displaying LED illuminated routed sign trays produced by the Fastsigns franchise.

John Davies, Managing Director of Fastsigns UK, said: "As well as focussing on opening new franchises, we are constantly committed to helping our existing network thrive and we are thrilled by the Kingston centre's expansion. I look forward to watching this business continue to succeed. The Kingston centre is continuously working at refining its existing product portfolio while continually searching for innovative ways to exceed its clients expectations further."
