This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Sensormatic's iREAD Platform.

The Sensormatic iREAD platform eliminates the need for separate power, control and data distribution infrastructures. It provides a flexible, scalable, easy-to-install foundation for retailers to lower the cost and complexity of in-store, item-level RFID deployments by an order of magnitude or more.

Sensormatic's iREAD platform allows retailers to reduce the number of readers, cables, and antennas while delivering the singulation needed to capture item-level data reliably and achieve inventory visibility. Unlike the many so-called smart shelves introduced in recent years, the Sensormatic iREAD platform enables retailers to adapt its capabilities to almost any retail configuration shelves, racks, tables and other display types. Whats more, its possible benefits and cost savings can increase exponentially with the size and scale of item-level RFID deployment.

ADT and its industry-leading Sensormatic EAS brand have had a long history of successful implementations of large-scale item-level tagging for inventory security. Karstadt GmbH, one of Germanys premier retailers using Sensormatic EAS to secure its merchandise and reduce losses, has now deployed Sensormatic iREAD platform to achieve inventory visibility in a major fashion apparel implementation at one of its flagship stores.

With ADTs Sensormatic iREAD RFID platform, initial deployment was easier than it otherwise might have been and ongoing operating costs are lower. When we add in all the other benefits, we expect it will help tip the balance toward a positive ROI much faster.
