Trotters, the childrenswear retailer, has selected Maginus, provider of integrated software solutions for multi-channel retail & distribution companies, to design and develop its new website and provide additional online marketing services.

The retailer has decided it needed a transactional website to be able to support the growth plans for the company which has stores in central London and Surrey.  Maginus will deliver the creative and web development, in addition, will also supply a range of additional services including SEO, social and email marketing.

Richard Ross, Managing Director at Trotters, said: "Our customers come from far and wide to visit our stores, so it felt like the natural progression to give customers the opportunity to visit our store online and make their favourite purchases. We're looking forward to working with Maginus to make the most of this new channel, which is an important element of our growth plans. It was important for us that we chose a supplier that could deliver the whole package design, web development and the services to ensure that we maximise the potential of the online channel."

Trotters was founded by Sophie Mirman and husband Richard Ross who were involved in the establishment of the Tie Rack in England and went on to create Sock Shop and thereafter Trotters. The business was the first store dedicated solely to children, catering from top to toe. It offers an exclusive range of clothes, shoes, books and toys and it also boasts a hairdressing department.

Mark Thornton, eCommerce Director, Maginus, said: "Trotters is an extremely successful retailer that recognises the value in developing a multi channel strategy by delivering a transactional website for its customers. It was an interesting challenge for us to bring their company ethos online. I'm confident that the new eCommerce channel will help Trotters to grow and will also deliver a new level of service to the Trotters customer base."
