Anderson Zaks, an independent payment solution provider that supplies integrated transaction processing software, has announced its partnership with handPoint, provider of handheld POS solutions for retail and distribution.  Many of handPoint's major customers, International brands in the travel and retail industries, already use Anderson Zaks RedCard software for secure transaction processing.  Combining the technologies provides both the retailers and their customers with the reassurance that mobile payments by cash and card are completed securely and that card payments are protected and comply with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS).

HandPoint will be showing their Headstart mobile POS solutions at the Retail Business Technology Expo at Earls court on 16-17th March, stand number 534. According to David Gudjonsson, Managing Director of handPoint; "It is important that cardholder data is securely stored and processed by merchants at all times to both meet PCI: DSS standards and protect the consumer - our partnership provides such a card payment solution.  Working with Anderson Zaks means that we can provide a secure mobile ePOS system that can do everything that the till does.

"Retailers are also starting to recognise the opportunities that a secure mobile ePOS can offer. It enables transactions on the shop floor - the sales assistant can provide more information and even upsell, making it easier for the customer to buy, resulting in incremental sales. It also enables retailers to open up a new line at the cash desk at busy times, without adding extra cabling or till points."

Other benefits from mobile ePOS for retailers include a reduction in shrinkage with more sales assistants on the shop floor.  It can also be installed for outdoor sales at events or festivals. handPoint's mobile POS solutions can handle cash and card payments and was the first approved mobile system for online Chip &PIN payment on a Windows platform.
Anderson Zaks provides PSI: DSS compliant payment software for secure transaction processing - businesses are now required by law to demonstrate such compliance when processing card payments or be liable for security breaches and fines.

Anderson Zaks RedCard software runs on a number of devices, including Motorola's MC75 handheld device already used widely by service and logistics companies. The MC75 terminal can be used anywhere in or outside of stores it connects to wireless broadband so that payments can be taken and receipts and invoices can be printed out automatically.

RedCard also supports compliance with EMV regulations, the standard set of specifications(established in 1998),  agreed to by the consortium Europay, MasterCard and Visa, for smart cards using Chip and PIN. EMV compliance ensures inter-operability of all chip cards and POS terminals equipped with chip card readers for authenticating credit and debit card transactions.

Adina Ahmed, Operations Director at Anderson Zaks commented, "Mobile POS can not only personalise the shopping experience and speed up the transaction  process, it brings benefit to the retailers by providing a flexible way to manage increased footfall. With identity theft an increasing concern, it is important that such transactions are protected and that businesses choose a partner that can support secure payments and meet the complex legislation standards. We have experience of providing software and managed services to ensure safe, reliable and cost effective electronic payments that ensure cardholder data is protected."
