This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Cards & Payments Solutions 2012 Conference call for papers now open.

Cards & Payments Solutions 2012, the dedicated exhibition and conference focused exclusively on cards and payments solutions in retail, co-located with Retail Business Technology Expo has launched the call for papers for the first Vendorcom Quarterly Cards & Payments Thought Leadership Conference of 2012.

Cards & Payments Solutions 2012 will once again be run in association with Vendorcom, the cards & payments community.  The theme for the first day of the Conference will be "Cards & Payments: Beyond Cards" and will deliver visionary and challenging information on the future focus of the industry as a whole. This will be followed by a second full day of authoritative and pragmatic seminar briefings for retailers covering the theme of Multichannel Payments in three sessions: Multichannel Security; Multichannel Tokens; and Multichannel Platforms.

Paul Rodgers, chairman, Vendorcom, said, "The cards and payments industry is undergoing major change and is reaching a tipping point where the debate on cash and cheques will soon extend to cards. A crucial question is emerging: are we looking at a cards and payments industry without cards? This is just one of the key topics covered by our conference at the show."

"Another underlying feature is a lack of empathy by the industry with the multichannel nature of retailing, where eCommerce solutions are offered when a retailer is actually looking for an integrated solution to address the payments requirements across all channels. The Retailer Briefings will take a multichannel view of cards and payments solutions," Rodgers continued.

Nick Field, event director, Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions, said, "We've already had an outstanding response to our call for papers for the seminar programme for Retail Business Technology Expo, with the line up due to be announced very soon.  With so much change and debate currently raging through the industry, I'm confident that the Cards & Payments Solutions Conference programme will generate just as much interest."

The Cards & Payments Solutions call for papers deadline is December 9 2011.
