This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: High Street retailers invited to put themselves in shop window.

Has one of your shop window displays had a noticeable influence on driving the number of customers into your store?  If you've had a winner of a window display that has encouraged customers to buy or become more loyal to your brand, then now's the time to put yourself in the limelight.

Ipsos Retail Performance is on the hunt for Britain's best-dressed shop windows and has launched The Ipsos Retail Prize to celebrate the most visually creative and effective high street designs on Britain's high streets.

Although Britain's summer has hardly been summerlike to date, stores up and down the country have entered into the British spirit with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations as well as summer sporting events, including the Games.  So the theme for the first Ipsos Retail Prize is Best of British.

As a high street retailer, how have you made your window displays a cut above the rest? What has been included to catch each shopper's eye? Is it stark minimalism, clever aerial props, or maybe red, white and blue pomp and circumstance in bold eye-popping colours? What is it that gives the store that 'WOW' factor and makes a visit inside the store totally irresistible?

Retailers are invited to submit pictures of their window displays as many as they wish - as and when designs change.  So if a window display has that bulldog factor that can turn a shopper's head, or simply put a smile on their face, then now's the time to share it.

The Ipsos Retail Prize is easy to enter:

  1. Download and complete the entry form by visiting the Ipsos Retail Performance website www.ipsos-retailperformance.com
  2. Then, there are two options: Either fill out the form, scan it and email digital images of your shop window to ipsosretailprize@paduacommunications.com or send a hard copy of the form with 5x7 prints to:

Retailers can nominate their windows as many times as they like as they change to reflect alternate themes over the next few months.  They may also send backdated images.  At the end of the competition, overall prizes will be awarded for two distinct categories of retailer chain/department stores and independent retailers.

All nominated images from retailers will be judged by a select team at Ipsos Retail Performance and the winners, to be announced in October 2012, will each receive a certificate and luxury afternoon tea. The closing date for submitting entries is 30th of September 2012.

For further information about the competition, email: ipsosretailprize@paduacommunications.com
