The Pro Shop, the South African golf equipment retailer, has selected the Immediate Impact signage solution from Episys, the global information technology services company, in conjunction with HOLDiT, Episys' partner in South Africa reducing the cost of producing all store signage by 80% as well as cutting design time by 30 hours per week.
The Pro Shop prides itself on never being beaten on price; it actively tracks US and UK prices on all products to ensure that customers do not pay more for a product in South Africa than they would anywhere else in the world. Price is therefore one of its major USPs and has to be both accurate and prominent in stores.
Trevor Rebello, The National Marketing Manager at The Pro Shop, said, "We have always produced all store signage in a central location before shipping this to the stores. The ticket design and print was a lengthy process and incurred high print costs. This process also allowed room for error and trying to force a "one size fits all" solution on all stores was not ideal. Stores have not been empowered to manage price changes or replace missing price tickets at a store level. The result is that we have a delay in getting price tickets to stores before a promotion and products could sit on the shelf at the old price for days without having the new revised price ticket."
Trevor continued, "We wanted to empower stores to take responsibility for price tickets at a store level. The Immediate Impact solution provides us with the ability to change prices and reflect those prices immediately. We also have the flexibility to replace tickets when needed without the delay caused by design and printing. We are very price driven and strive to pass on savings to the customer."
Derek Buchanan, Chief Executive Officer at Episys, said, "Immediate Impact will deliver The Pro Shop with an effective, low cost signage solution. It means any retailer without an IT department, designers or a sophisticated IT package can produce professional looking signage, crucial for communicating a clear, joined up proposition to customers."
