Varlink, the York based specialist mobile computing and data capture distributor, has become the sole UK Distributor of the new-to-market gen2wave RP1100 rugged PDA, described as 'the ultimate budget-busting solution'. This device is opening up the opportunity to supply high-quality, entry level products to consumers who have a need for a rugged solution on a tight budget.

The device currently operates on Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro platform with a view to bringing out an Android version later on in the year.  Ultra-rugged and durable with an IP54 rating, 1.5m multiple drop resistance, the RP1100 withstands operating temperature of between -20°C and 55°C.

Customers can choose between 1D, 2D and a variant with no barcode scanner and, weighing only 250g, the device is 30% smaller and lighter than other full-functioning rugged PDAs. The RP1000 and RP1100 are perfect for users in both rugged and non-rugged environments like Field Service, Retail, Public Transport, Healthcare and Hospitality.
