This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Out Now: Multichannel & Ecommerce Top 100 Movers & Shakers 2012 report.

Naming the top 100 key individuals making a difference to ecommerce and multichannel retail, K3 Retail and the Retailinsider placed Aurora Fashion's Hash Ladha, deputy MD of Oasis, and Ish Patel, group omnichannel director at Aurora Fashions, at number 1 in the 2012 'Movers & Shakers in Multichannel & e-commerce' report, which was released at the Retail Systems Multichannel Conference 2012 on 20 September.

Other names credited in the top listings included Robin Terrell, executive director of multichannel and international, and Andy Harding, director of ecommerce at House of Fraser, plus K3 customers Scott Weavers-Wright, CEO, and Simon Harrow, Chief Operating Officer at Kiddicare, along with Nick Wilkinson, CEO at Evans Cycles.

Now in its third year, the 'Multichannel & eCommerce Top 100 Movers & Shakers Report', this year has covered both large and small retailers, as well as pure plays and ecommerce sites; with highest ranking names reflecting an emphasis and focus not simply on the big retailers, but rather on the individuals within retail themselves.

Now that retail is increasingly relying on eCommerce and multichannel, the report celebrates those individuals and rising stars recognising the need to provide customers with successfully combined and coordinated cross channel offerings; showing determined efforts to create engaging and seamless multi-channel propositions.

Names at the top of the list were praised for pushing the boundaries of their multichannel offerings and embracing digital, having introduced such features as 90-minute delivery, replacing fixed tills with iPads, introducing in-store WiFi and more. And with the exciting new emergence of mobile, the fluid and rapidly changing world of multichannel means that the top names listed are developing strong and successful futures – even in today's harsh retail climate.

Commenting on this, Tony Bryant, Business Development Manager at K3 Retail stated, "Tenacity, and above all adaptability in the face of change is what makes the world of successful retail such an exciting place. In compiling the Top 100 Movers & Shakers we aim to recognise the importance of maintaining that innovative entrepreneurial spirit to try, chance and embrace new things, and on behalf of K3 Retail I'd like to both thank and reward those 100 retailers and individuals who are continuing to evolve and stay ahead of the game."

Glynn Davis of Retailinsider.com, added, "Using their skills and experience to seriously think about developing true multichannel businesses across a diverse and global range, no two entrants in this report are alike, and will likely lead the forefront of a coming channel revolution in the next year. As such, I look forward to witnessing the next phase in the maturing of multichannel and ecommerce, and hope to note some exciting changes this time next year."
