This article is brought to you by Retail Technology Review: Davidson Richards brings mobile PoS to SMB retail market.

Davidson Richards, retail software specialists, has announced that its cloud-based OpSuite retail management solution is now available on mobile PoS. Shop assistants using a tablet as a mobile PoS, can join the customer on the shop floor to provide seamless service throughout the browsing and buying process. The offering will enable retailers to provide enhanced and personal service to maximise sales conversions and customer loyalty as well as streamline labour-intensive processes such as stock checking.

Because the OpSuite solution processes all retail operational data from warehouse to m-commerce site to in-store, in real-time, the assistant is ideally equipped to research and answer customer queries immediately – such as whether an alternative size is in-stock or if there are any discounts available on the company's e-commerce site that can be applied in-store. The sale can then be made or an item ordered for home-delivery without having to move to and queue at a till.

"The retail industry is always striving to move forward at the pace of technology and use all relevant developments to its advantage" comments Richard Goodley, CEO, Davidson Richards. "At Davidson Richards, our aim is turn these technological advancements into advantages for SMB retailers and providing our cloud-based retail management solution on tablets is an example of this. Accessing all retail operational data via a tablet will particularly suit retailers involved in emotional sales such as jewellers or wedding suppliers – being able to provide a personal and calm service will no doubt help sway the browser in the direction of a sale."
