Café Murano, the St James eatery described as 'the little sister' of the original Murano restaurant, is this month celebrating its first nine months of trading and has paid tribute to the EPoS technology it is using to run its business.

With Michelin-starred chef Angela Harnett (a protégée of Gordon Ramsay) as its chef-patron, Café Murano opened to critical acclaim in November 2013. Finance Director Garth Warnes made his choice of EPoS technology based on positive recommendation and the business invested in a solution from restaurant EPoS solutions specialist TISSL, who counts many top chefs amongst its 500+ clients.

General Manager Zoe Charlton-Brown joined Café Murano for the opening. "Whilst not personally involved in the selection of TISSL, I can see why it was our choice. It works very well and provides all the functions we need for front-of-house operations and accounting. Interacting with the system is good, very easy, and the more we're trained the more functionality we use."

When it comes to reporting, Ms Charlton-Brown can generate "every report possible, all our cash analysis and daily reports of sales blends, dishes and wines sold. We can easily analyse what's selling and what isn't, which gives us a good view of the business and is critical for a young business such as ours."

The TISSL solution runs on the latest PC-based touchscreen EPoS terminals, located on the bar and in the restaurant. "The terminals are quiet and perfectly reliable."

"It would be hard for a quality restaurant to manage without EPoS today. We certainly find our TISSL solution easy to use and very good," concludes Zoe Charlton-Brown.
