Maxatec launches new Arbor 9.7" rugged tablet PC

The Arbor G0975 from Maxatec is a 9.7" slimline but rugged tablet PC utilising a quad-core Intel® processor for powerful performance. Running Windows 8.1, this new addition to the Gladius series is designed for businesses demanding a dual mode solution for mobile and desktop applications.

"The G0975 is yet another example of Arbor's attention to detail in design and manufacture of tablet PC's. The tablet has a sturdy magnesium-aluminium alloy enclosure making it lightweight, but it is also rugged – boasting IP65 certification and MIL-STD-810G compliance for shock and vibration thanks to the sealed I/O ports and the rubber bumpers on each corner. The G0975 also has an optional barcode scanner, MSR and RFID/NFC modules making it ideal for a multitude of applications including mobile POS," says Steve Berry, Maxatec Director.

The G0975 features a 9.7" XGA IPS LED supporting 10-point multi-touch, 5MP rear camera and easy-to-access function keys. The tablet is less than one inch (25mm) thick and weighs just over 2 lbs (1kg). A slim design, sunlight readable display option (700 nits), and 3G, 4G, LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for seamless wireless communication, makes the tablet perfect for true mobile working in the field.

The G0975 also provides instant transition between mobile and fixed point of sale. Retailers can easily turn the tablet into a full-function POS by integrating it the docking cradle but without the effort of connecting complex cables. The cradle comes with full I/O ports, such as USB, DB-9 and Ethernet, to facilitate connection to peripherals, such as a printer or a cash drawer. For vehicle applications, the G0975 comes with an optional GPS module and VESA-compliant vehicle mounting cradle.
